Description
Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is offering a licensing opportunity for its NanoFiber Engineered Therapeutics Platform (NanoFET). This platform is designed for pharmaceutical and biodefense organizations to develop next-generation immunotherapies. NanoFET merges self-assembling peptide nanofibers with interchangeable nanobody and peptide components, enabling the rapid development of targeted treatments that can bridge disease agents directly to the patient's immune cells. The platform offers several advantages, including a modular architecture for rapid adaptation to new disease targets, dual-function capability for bridging disease agents to immune cells, and adjuvant-free immune activation. Its small, stable targeting molecules (nanobodies) are easier to produce and engineer than conventional antibodies, and the high-density multivalent display allows for simultaneous presentation of multiple antigens or functional components. The compatibility with external biologics allows partners to integrate their own AI-designed binders or proprietary targeting molecules. Market applications for NanoFET include oncology (bispecific T-cell engagers, tumor-targeted immunotherapies), infectious disease therapeutics (pan-influenza treatments, broad-spectrum countermeasures), biodefense and military medicine, vaccine development, and pharmaceutical biologics and drug delivery. The technology is at Technology Readiness Level 3 and is patent pending.
