Description
The City of Mason is soliciting a contractor to reconstruct the East Main Parking Lot. The work includes clearing and grubbing; demolition and removal of existing pavement, trees, electrical equipment, and portions of a shared-use path; excavation, embankment, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, asphalt and concrete paving; curbs, sidewalks, driveway aprons, parking blocks, pavement markings, signage, fencing, lighting-related electrical conduits and pull boxes, underground storm sewer, water, irrigation, and other utilities; landscaping; a dumpster enclosure; bike racks; bollards; erosion and sediment controls; restoration; and related labor, materials, equipment, permits, coordination, testing, and cleanup. New streetlight poles, foundations, and luminaires have been removed from the scope, while electrical conduits and pull boxes have been added to prepare for a future separate streetlight project. The project also includes design and installation of a spray irrigation system, as-built drawings, and required shop drawings and submittals. Addendum 3 adds an optional approved-equal grass paver alternate; the base bid must include the specified TrueGrid grass paver system, but completing the alternate section is not required for a complete bid. Addendum 4 changes the irrigation tapping/permit fee to a $20,000 allowance reimbursed for actual costs without markup, corrects the asphalt concrete base unit to cubic yards, and adds geotextile fabric. Bidders must comply with Ohio prevailing-wage requirements and provide the required bid guaranty and contract bond, including a 100% contract bond upon award.
