Description
Durham County seeks a qualified architectural firm to assess its library facilities across multiple locations and prepare a comprehensive space-planning evaluation. The scope includes programming and space-needs assessment; site and building evaluations; proposed modifications and potential expansions; population-growth projections and future facility needs; and a master plan for facility modifications over a 10-year period. The work also includes conceptual designs, rough-order-of-magnitude cost estimates, and presentations to County management and the Board of County Commissioners. The selected firm must provide architectural services, including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical engineering and other necessary subcontract services. Respondents must be professional architects registered in North Carolina, with at least five years of demonstrable space-needs and programming experience and the ability to produce written field-investigation reports. Submit a concise proposal of no more than 12 double-sided pages, excluding the letter of introduction, forms, reports, brochures, dividers, and detailed resumes. Address the nine specified topics, including the firm's approach, background, relevant projects from the past five years, key personnel, three client references, conflicts of interest, hourly rates, and task-completion schedule. Provide one hard-copy original and six hard copies. The package also includes an E-Verify affidavit required with the bid. Questions are due by email, and addenda must be acknowledged on the included form.
