Description
The Allentown Parknership seeks one architectural and engineering firm to rehabilitate and adaptively reuse the approximately 2,775-square-foot Tack Barn at Lehigh Parkway. The selected team will evaluate existing conditions and develop permitting, procurement, and construction documents addressing the historic building envelope, foundation, siding, roofing, doors, windows, accessibility, life safety, energy performance, structural systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hazardous materials planning, and code compliance. The work must preserve and document historic furnishings, equestrian equipment, taxidermy displays, photographs, and other interior artifacts for storage and potential reinstallation. The scope includes cost estimating and value engineering, phased public bid-package preparation, bidder support, addenda, bid review and award recommendations, construction contracts, submittal and shop-drawing review, change processing, biweekly on-site construction meetings, closeout, as-built drawings, project records, and operations and maintenance manuals. Proposals must include a complete fee, pricing for additional services, firm experience with historic-site renovation, key personnel, approach and methodology, similar projects, fee structure, and at least three references. The anticipated A&E services budget is approximately $75,000, and services supporting construction are to be completed by June 30, 2028.
