Description
The City of Santa Clara is soliciting a contractor for a flood-protection construction project involving approximately 2,100 linear feet of storm-drain improvements. The work includes removing existing storm-drain pipes and manholes; installing new 12-, 30-, 36-, and 42-inch reinforced-concrete storm-drain pipe; constructing manholes, catch basins, a cast-in-place junction box, and a 42-inch in-line check valve; reconnecting existing storm drains; and connecting the system to the San Tomas Aquino Creek culvert. The project also includes excavation, trench safety, dewatering and flow diversion, stormwater pollution and dust control, traffic control, pavement and concrete restoration, traffic-signal loop-detector work, survey-monument replacement, replacement of County soundwall and fencing, prevailing-wage and federal-aid compliance, and required qualifications documentation. The contractor must hold a California Class A license, be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations, submit a bid security of at least 10% of the bid amount, and provide performance and payment bonds equal to the contract price after award. The work has a stated duration of 130 working days to substantial completion and 140 working days to final completion after the Notice to Proceed.
