Description
The State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Senior and Disabilities Services, is soliciting proposals for capital projects that address deferred maintenance, health and safety, and accessibility needs at facilities serving Alaska Mental Health Trust beneficiaries. Eligible improvements may include plumbing, fire suppression and alarm systems, electrical and building-system repairs, roof or floor replacement, accessible ramps and parking, signage, accessible hardware, restroom improvements, and accessible paths of travel. Projects must preserve or restore an existing facility or component; routine maintenance, general remodeling, expansion, new construction, cosmetic improvements, movable equipment, and other excluded costs are not eligible. Applicants must describe the proposed project, beneficiary population, service area, facility rights or ownership, staffing and administrative capacity, prior relevant experience, coordination requirements, project timeline, performance measures, and a detailed budget and budget narrative. A 10% match is required, and reimbursement is based on documented expenditures. The anticipated total funding is $320,000, with individual proposals limited to $50,000 and a minimum request of $10,000. The grant period is December 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028.
