Roswell Park Cancer Institute Corp. is soliciting proposals from a general construction firm for a single-prime contract to construct Phase II of the Community Outreach and Engagement Center at 907 Michigan Avenue. The project adds approximately 4,600 square feet, including a 20-plus-seat classroom, collaboration room, two community co-working rooms, semi-private drop-down areas, public gathering space, an expanded community gallery, private offices, hoteling workstations, a partial second story, and a basement for future growth and storage. The work includes demolition, site and utility work, foundations, concrete, structural steel and cold-formed framing, roofing, exterior cladding, interior finishes, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC, electrical systems, communications, security, commissioning, and related coordination activities. The contractor must provide project management and superintendent staff, coordinate subcontractors and trades, prepare site logistics and construction schedules, maintain operations adjacent to the occupied cancer center, implement infection-control, dust, safety, environmental, traffic, and pedestrian protections, and meet the Ready for Intended Use date of September 13, 2027. The solicitation establishes participation goals of 15% for Minority-Owned Business Enterprises, 15% for Women-Owned Business Enterprises, and 6% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses. The bid package requires a 5% bid guaranty, performance and payment bonds, and compliance with the issued addenda. Addendum 2 states an anticipated total project budget of $4 million, including design, construction, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
