Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is soliciting applications for cooperative agreements to support its Cultural and Paleontological Resource Management program. The primary objective is to foster partnerships that enhance access to and utilization of heritage resources, promoting their educational, scientific, cultural, and recreational values in alignment with U.S. Department of the Interior priorities. Projects should focus on areas such as conducting studies (inventory, excavation, research), monitoring and stabilizing at-risk heritage resources, training future resource management practitioners, assisting with data and records management, preserving existing collections, broadening public access to museum collections, promoting engagement with Native American communities, and developing interpretive sites. This funding opportunity is open to state governments, county governments, city/township governments, special district governments, public and state-controlled institutions of higher education, federally recognized Native American tribal governments and organizations, and non-profit organizations (with or without 501(c)(3) status). Individuals and for-profit organizations are ineligible. The estimated total program funding is $830,000, with individual awards ranging from $30,000 to $75,000. Applications are due by August 14, 2026.
