Description
Toronto Public Library is seeking a vendor to supply, implement, deploy, integrate, and support modern self-checkout kiosks across its branch network, bookmobiles, and other designated locations. The kiosk scope includes up to 160 floor-standing, countertop, and compact units; hardware, software, licensing, configuration, installation, branding, accessibility features, customer account and circulation workflows, integration with the SirsiDynix Symphony integrated library system, centralized management, reporting, training, warranty, maintenance, security updates, and ongoing technical support. The solution must support library-industry workflows, RFID-enabled materials, multilingual customer-facing functions, and WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility requirements. Proponents may also propose an RFID circulation solution for staff to process holds, returns, and transit items, including integration with the existing library system and support for approximately 150 to 300 solutions. Toronto Public Library may use its existing Feig Electronic ISC.SPAD102-USB RFID hardware if compatible. The anticipated implementation includes a pilot at three locations in Q3 2027 and full deployment by the end of Q1 2028. The agreement term is five years for self-checkout kiosks, with up to five additional one-year extensions, and three years for the RFID solution, with up to two additional one-year extensions.
