Spalding County is soliciting proposals from qualified transportation planning consultants to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. This plan is crucial for the county to eliminate roadway fatalities and serious injuries and to compete for future Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Implementation Grant funding. The project is funded by a $300,000 federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, with a total project budget of $375,000 including the county's match. The period of performance is 36 months from the notice to proceed, with the final plan due by September 30, 2028. The scope of work includes project administration, crash data analysis, safety assessments, road safety audits, community engagement, policy assessment, action plan development with specific countermeasures and performance targets, and federal reporting.
