The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP), through its Natural Resource Damages (NRD) Program, is issuing a Notice of Intent to Award a Best Value Grant to the Town of Tewksbury. This grant will fund the construction phase of the Poplar Street Wetland and Groundwater Restoration and the Mollie Drive Wetland and Floodplain Restoration projects. The Town of Tewksbury will use these funds to hire a construction contractor. Activities will include implementing sediment and erosion controls, construction access, fill testing and excavation, hauling and disposal of fill and debris, recreational enhancements, planting of native species, invasive species management, contingency costs, and construction administration and post-construction monitoring. The grant award contract will commence after the expiration of the notice period and run through June 30, 2030, with three one-year renewal options available at MassDEP's discretion.
