Description
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a firm-fixed-price construction contract to decommission and demolish the Leavenworth Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy at 5000 S. 13th Street. Work includes disassembly and removal of automated prescription fulfillment equipment, conveyors, controls, electrical and pneumatic infrastructure, furniture, cages, partitions, selected exterior items, and other building components; demolition debris removal; floor and wall repairs; cleaning; and hazardous-waste testing and disposal. Equipment designated for potential resale or relocation must be inventoried, photographed, carefully disassembled, palletized, packaged, and documented in accordance with the provided government guidelines. The contractor must provide temperature-controlled off-site storage of 5,000 to 10,000 square feet within 25 miles of the Shawnee CMOP at 23501 W. 84th Street, Shawnee, Kansas. Storage is included in the base price for up to one year from issuance of the notice to proceed and must include specified security, alarm, restroom, and camera features. The period of performance is 365 days, with decommissioning intended to be completed within 60 days of the notice to proceed. Proposals are evaluated under a best-value tradeoff process emphasizing technical approach, technical construction experience, and qualifications of proposed staffing.
