Description
Onondaga County, through Syracuse Parks and Recreation, is soliciting bids for community reforestation and forest restoration work at three sites. The scope includes debris and trash removal, forestry mulching, tree removal for multiple diameter ranges, brush cleanup, girdling, herbicide application, light vegetation removal, and erosion and sediment control measures, including hydroseeding coordination, silt fencing, mudrack, compost filter sock, straw bale dikes, and drop-inlet protection. Pricing is requested by task and unit, with Year 1, Year 2, and Year 3 pricing shown; Addendum No. 2 clarifies that the tree-removal and forestry-mulching work is a one-year contract, while hydroseeding is heavy in the initial year with supplemental work over the contract duration if needed. Fencing that interferes with the work may be removed and may be subcontracted, but existing fences do not need to be replaced. No engineer's estimate was provided. Prevailing-wage and insurance requirements apply, and a 5% bid bond is required. Addendum No. 3 requires bidders to acknowledge the addendum on the Bid Form and confirms that the September 17, 2026, bid deadline and opening date remain unchanged; bidders must include all reasonably foreseeable costs and risks in their bid price, with no additional compensation for foreseeable costs omitted from the bid.
