Description
The City of Syracuse is seeking qualifications from contractors able to perform as-needed court-ordered and emergency blight-removal projects. Work may include utility disconnection, complete building and accessory-structure removal, foundation and slab demolition, debris removal with landfill limits, backfilling, grading, seeding, and removal of dead trees. Individual project specifications will be issued as needs arise, and the City may qualify and award to one or more vendors. Contractors must comply with New York State asbestos requirements, including use of a licensed New York State asbestos contractor and preparation of petitions for variances to Code Rule 56 when required. Proposals must address demolition/deconstruction experience, staffing, equipment, project approach, licenses and certifications, references, insurance, billing rates, and the ability to obtain performance bonds for projects exceeding $50,000. The solicitation also includes prevailing-wage, Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business, workforce-diversity, and local-hiring requirements, along with project-specific permits and site documentation.
