Description
Missoula County is soliciting bids for the upgrade of the cooling system at the Missoula County Detention Facility, located at 2340 Mullan Road, Missoula, MT. The project involves the demolition of the existing cooling tower and condenser water pump, installation of new wells and piping, and the installation of new heat exchangers, pumps, and associated piping. An additive alternate includes the demolition and installation of a new water-cooled chiller, associated pump, and controls. The anticipated completion date for this project is May 14, 2027, with work expected to commence the week of August 10, 2026. The contract term will be negotiated, with a potential duration of up to five years at the County's option. Bidders are required to submit a bid bond of 10% of the bid price. A performance bond will also be required for construction contracts over $50,000. The project also requires adherence to Montana's prevailing wage laws and requires contractors to employ Montana residents.
