Description
The City of Independence is soliciting bids from qualified, prequalified contractors for the 2026 Emergency Stormwater and Sanitary Repairs project for its Municipal Services Department. The work includes saw-cutting, removal and disposal of existing pavement, subgrade preparation, cold milling, installation of binder and finish courses of bituminous asphaltic concrete, traffic control, ADA curb-ramp upgrades, curb and gutter repair, pavement markings, and related appurtenant work. The project also involves emergency infrastructure repairs associated with stormwater and sanitary systems. The opportunity is restricted to contractors awarded Johnson County, Kansas Wastewater Cooperative Agreement EM, and eligible contractors must request prequalification through the online procurement system before responding. Bids must be submitted online; paper, fax, and email submissions are not accepted. A virtual bid opening is scheduled, but Addendum One states that the previously posted closing date is being withdrawn because specifications are still under development and that a later addendum will establish a new closing date.
