Description
The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction, on behalf of the Board of Regents and Texas A&M University, is soliciting statements of qualifications from an Architect/Engineer firm for the Evans Library sixth-floor renovation. The project will transform outdated space into a modern, quiet study environment with a grand reading room, individual study rooms with natural light, open seating with varied furniture, upgraded power access and lighting, and a temporary graduate lounge. The work also includes removal of existing staff processing space and study carrels, with collections relocated to lower levels. The stated planning amount is $17,000,000, including $12,273,744 available for the construction contract; the balance covers fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies. This RFQ is the first step in selecting a firm, and the owner may invite the three or more highest-ranked qualified respondents to interviews. Qualifications must be accessed and submitted through e-Builder, and addenda will be posted there.
