Description
The Town of Salem is soliciting proposals for comprehensive operation of its solid-waste transfer station. The selected contractor must provide facility operations during specified hours, personnel, loaders, backup equipment, trailers, dumpsters, containers, site cleanup, waste inspection, and coordination with the Town's scale-house and access-control operations. The scope includes loading, hauling, processing, and disposal of approximately 7,000 tons of municipal solid waste, 1,200 tons of single-stream recyclables, and 34 tons of electronic waste annually, along with hauling municipal-facility waste and managing permitted disposal or recycling facilities. The contractor must comply with New Hampshire environmental requirements and facility permits, provide appropriately certified operators, and submit pricing for base services and three alternates, including an additional inspector, bulky metals and white goods, and MSW-only operations. The contract is expected to begin April 1, 2027, run for five years, and include a five-year renewal option.
