Description
The City of Rutland is soliciting proposals for construction of an approximately 4,600-foot-long, 5-foot-wide accessible trail through the lower trail system of Pine Hill Park and the lower field of Giorgetti Park. The trail must follow applicable U.S. Forest Service and International Mountain Bicycling Association accessibility standards and connect to the existing Rutland Creek Path. The work includes erosion control; excavation and subgrade preparation; installation and compaction of a 6-inch washed drainage-stone base; full wrapping of the base with non-woven geotextile fabric; installation of a compacted 3- to 4-inch layer of trail-base stone; installation of a compacted 3- to 4-inch surface layer sourced from Brown's Quarry; accessible bench cuts and passing spaces; machinery and hand-tool work; coordination on pre-built bridges and boardwalks in wetlands; cleanup; and revegetation of trail edges. The contractor must provide the required machinery, comply with wetland construction requirements, and obtain insurance coverage before beginning work. The bid sheet requires a price, estimated start time, completion date, contractor information, authorized signature, subcontractor listing, firm qualifications, and at least two references with contact information.
