Description
The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision is soliciting bids for comprehensive electrical testing, inspection, maintenance, calibration, minor corrective repairs, and formal reporting for medium-voltage switchgear, transfer switches, vacuum circuit breakers, battery systems, motor control centers, oil-filled and dry-type transformers, low-voltage air switches, protective relays, and associated equipment at Washington Correctional Facility and Great Meadow Correctional Facility. The work includes partial discharge testing of medium-voltage primary cables, terminations, splices, and connected equipment using a Doble Online PD Testing System, with two copies of an engineered report and risk-category evaluation required. The contractor must provide and connect generators to critical buildings during service, including off-hours work when coordinated by the facilities, and must pump water from electrical manholes if necessary. The scope also includes one-time six-hour Arc Flash Safety Awareness Training for up to 20 people and one-time four-hour portable generator connection training. A New York State-licensed professional electrical engineer with at least 10 years of power-system-study experience must prepare the study. All work is subject to prevailing wage requirements, and pricing must separately identify base services, training, hourly labor, and material markup.
