Description
This Sources Sought/RFI seeks firms capable of designing transloading and processing modular hot cells and fabricating, crating, shipping, and installing one fully functional transloading modular hot cell for a Hazard Category 2 Radioisotope Processing Facility. The base scope includes conceptual and detailed design packages, shielding analysis, fabrication and quality assurance plans, shipment and handling planning, onsite installation planning, testing and commissioning procedures, lifecycle maintainability and cost assessment, and as-built documentation. The systems must support irradiated-target receipt and transfer, chemical, mechanical, and thermal processing, glovebox integration, radioactive-waste management, shielding, confinement, ventilation, maintainability, and future relocation or replacement. The work includes off-site fabrication and onsite installation using air-skate systems because overhead cranes are unavailable in the process bays. The potential scope includes six additional transloading hot cells and seven processing hot cells. Responses must provide a narrative covering the offeror's locations and capabilities, DOE or federal work experience, two similar projects, environmental, safety, health, and quality practices, estimated proposal-development time, company and contact information, and a budgetary cost range. The response should address execution under either an ISO 9001 program with commercial-grade dedication or an NQA-1 program. This market-research notice is not a solicitation, and responding is not required for later consideration.
