Description
The County of Maui is soliciting a single fixed-price construction contract for Paunau Park Improvements, Job No. P26/003, at TMK (2) 4-6-026:040 in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. The work includes furnishing labor, materials, equipment, services, and transportation for site clearing, grading, erosion-control measures, asphalt walkways, a playground concrete pad, poured-in-place playground surfacing, an accessible path around the playground, and a stand-alone shade structure. The shade structure must use an extreme 32 HDPE mesh fabric or approved equal, and the playground surfacing must include an impact-attenuating rubber substrate and EPDM wear surface meeting specified safety, accessibility, slip-resistance, and weathering requirements. The contractor must also provide a grand-opening and blessing ceremony for approximately 150 attendees, including event planning, a kahu, dignitary coordination, tables, chairs, canopy or tent if needed, audio/visual support, refreshments, event staffing, and cleanup. The project must be completed within 120 calendar days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Bidders must submit the completed and signed proposal, bid breakdown, subcontractor listing, bid bond, and applicable preference forms through the Public Purchase website; state and federal tax clearances are requested with the bid proposal. A bid bond of at least 5% of the total bid is required, and performance and payment bonds are required after award.
