Description
Texas A&M AgriLife Research is soliciting bids for a lump-sum, competitively bid contract to construct a controlled-environment research greenhouse at its Research and Extension Center. The base bid includes all labor, materials, equipment, greenhouse structure and controls, controlled-environment rooms, growing systems, laboratory casework and equipment, concrete, structural steel, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, communications, safety and security systems, earthwork, exterior improvements, and utilities. The contractor must procure, coordinate, and install the controlled-environment rooms and provide laboratory casework and equipment. Bidders must separately price four alternates: headhouse fit-out; the balance of the rainwater collection system, including storage tanks and concrete pad; a decorative screenwall for the cryogenic bulk storage tank; and landscape plantings. The bid requires descriptive literature and technical specifications, a completed cost breakdown, estimated project completion time, warranty information, a completed subcontracting plan when the bid exceeds $100,000, applicable insurance documentation or an affirmation that compliant insurance will be provided before award, export-control information if applicable, and acknowledgments of Addenda 1, 2, and 3. The solicitation states that the AggieBid line items constitute the official bid form, while the cost breakdown is encouraged as supporting pricing documentation. Payment and performance bonds are required when the applicable statutory thresholds are exceeded. Addendum 3 revised the specifications, insurance requirements, drawings, geotechnical information, liquidated damages, and scope clarifications, including contractor responsibility for controlled-environment rooms and laboratory casework, Dallas County prevailing wages, and a contractor-provided project completion duration.
