Description
The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center is seeking a qualified technician from Philadelphia Gear to provide expert technical assistance for troubleshooting and repairing the main reduction gear onboard the CGC Maple (WLB-207). The vessel has experienced an overheat condition with the main reduction gear while underway. The technician will provide guidance and assistance to Coast Guard personnel to identify the cause of the overheating and provide a list of necessary parts for the ship's crew to complete the repair. The work will involve on-site inspections both in-port and underway, with the ship's crew standing by to perform necessary labor and component removal. The underway period is expected to be no longer than 10 hours. All work must be performed on-site at 2301 E. Fort Macon Road, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512. The planned Period of Performance will be conducted during a single visit, with the contractor expected on-site no later than June 26, 2026, or as scheduled with the primary point of contact.
