Description
The contractor will inspect, test, maintain, and calibrate electrical power distribution equipment at two VA medical center divisions. Work covers switchgear and switchboards, transformers, busways, switches, circuit breakers, protective relays, grounding and ground-fault systems, motor controls, generators, automatic transfer switches, and distribution panels. The scope includes infrared scanning, generator oil and coolant sampling, emergency repair and maintenance when circuits cannot be re-energized, and participation in a four-hour essential electrical system outage test. The contractor must perform arc-flash, short-circuit, and protective-device coordination studies; collect and verify field data; recommend and implement specified protective-device adjustments; and produce and install hazard labels and signs. Required deliverables include technical studies and reports, updated one-line drawings in editable CADD format, and hard-copy and electronic report copies. The quote must include a proposed work schedule and technical approach, contractor qualifications and certifications, safety and outage plans, calibration documentation, and three recent, relevant past-performance references.
