Description
San Mateo County’s Department of Public Works seeks up to two contractors holding an active California Class C-10 electrical license for job order contracts covering electrical and related construction work at County-owned facilities. Work orders will be issued separately as needs arise and may include labor, materials, tools, equipment, and related work. The scope and schedule for each job will be defined in its individual job order. The County does not guarantee a minimum volume of work; each contract has a maximum value of $2 million and a one-year term, with issued job orders remaining covered until their work is complete. Bidders must meet stated experience and staffing qualifications, including five years of comparable prime-contractor experience and completion of three comparable projects. A $25,000 bid bond or certified/cashier’s check is required with the bid. The successful contractor must provide $250,000 initial payment and performance bonds, a letter of bondability for the $2 million maximum contract value, and required insurance. The proposal also requires the completed bid schedule and specified EEO, anti-trust, and contractor declaration forms. A mandatory in-person pre-bid conference is required to be represented at for a bid to be considered.
