Description
The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources is soliciting a single-prime general contractor for Phase 1 of the Tryon Palace perimeter fence replacement in New Bern. The lump-sum scope includes demolition of the existing chain-link fence; construction of approximately 250 linear feet of new masonry wall with decorative steel fence infill; installation of pier-mounted and recessed light fixtures; and upgrading and expanding the existing building-facade lighting. The general contractor will coordinate plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and qualified subcontractor work. All work must comply with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of experience on competitively bid publicly funded construction projects and provide relevant historic-preservation experience, bidder and subcontractor qualification statements, subcontractor names, and the required HUB/minority-business participation identification form. Bid, performance, and payment bonds are required. The bid must be submitted as a sealed hard-copy package; electronic bids are not accepted.
