Description
The City of Rocky Mount is soliciting a single-prime contractor to replace windows in two buildings at the Rocky Mount Imperial Center. The work includes selective demolition; removal and replacement of window frames and glazing; aluminum storefront and entrance installation; insulating glass; applied muntins; joint sealants; rough carpentry; interior and exterior painting; removal and reinstallation of existing blinds; patching, cleanup, protection, and closeout activities. Building A interior wood trim is to be painted white to match the storefront system. The project includes building-specific muntin alternates and an architect's contingency allowance of $20,000. Substantial completion is required within 180 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day for late completion. Work is generally during typical office hours, with after-hours work permitted when coordinated with the owner. The contractor must coordinate approved lane closures, obtain written approval for substitutions at least seven days before bid receipt, and submit technical questions by September 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. The last addendum is scheduled for September 14, 2026. Bidders must submit a sealed single-prime bid with 5% bid security, acknowledge all addenda, and provide the required minority-business participation documentation.
