Description
The City of Rocky Mount is soliciting construction services to replace the existing 18 MVA, 69/15 kV transformer and realign its connection to the distribution bay structure at Substation 10. The work includes draining and removing the existing transformer, transformer pad, 15 kV breaker, steel switch stands, associated foundations, and a section of cable trench. The contractor must furnish and install the new transformer, breaker, steel structures, group-operated air-break switches, disconnecting switches, meters, relays, instrument transformers, conduit and cable, foundations, station grounding, testing, and a reinforced-concrete oil-containment system with sump pump, oil-sensing device, controls, piping, grating, and related materials. The scope also includes excavation, concrete and reinforcing work, demolition, lifting the new transformer from a temporary pad, and placing it on the permanent pad. The documents specify contractor-furnished materials, technical submittals, testing, and applicable structural steel, concrete, electrical, and oil-containment standards.
