Description
The City of Detroit is seeking a completely built and assembled hazmat vehicle for fire-department use. The vehicle must be new and the manufacturer's latest model, meet applicable United States Department of Transportation, federal, state, local, and NFPA 1900 requirements, and include a severe-duty custom chassis, specialized hazmat and emergency-response equipment, warning and lighting systems, a 25,000-watt PTO generator, light tower, utility air compressor, weather station, communications and electrical provisions, storage compartments, and related apparatus systems. The specifications require detailed contractor and engineering drawings, documented performance testing, factory inspection, pre-construction coordination, delivery, and acceptance testing. The successful vendor must provide operating and service manuals, wiring schematics, training, warranty coverage, maintenance-package details, and required certifications. The solicitation requires manufacturer or authorized-dealer qualifications, substantial manufacturer experience, references, written exceptions, insurance, and a 100% performance bond after notification of award and before work begins. The contract term is two years, with delivery of the completed vehicle specified within 700 days after the pre-construction meeting and approval of signed change orders.
