Description
AmeriCorps is offering discretionary competitive grants to eligible State Service Commissions, states and U.S. territories, federally recognized Native American tribal governments and organizations, city or township governments, special districts, counties, nonprofits, and public or private institutions of higher education. Funded organizations will engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions that strengthen communities and address areas including economic opportunity, veterans and military families, community development, disaster prevention and relief, education, employment and training, environment, food and nutrition, health, and housing. The grant requires cost sharing or matching. AmeriCorps members may receive living allowances and other benefits, and members who successfully complete service may earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award.
