The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate and award a sole-source contract to Raytheon Company for the low-rate initial production of Joint Multiple Effects Warhead System suites designated for the Tomahawk Block Vb missile variant. The effort transitions the JMEWS program from engineering and manufacturing development to production and includes supplies and services. The notice states that the action will be conducted under FAR 6.302-1 because Raytheon is the only known source capable of meeting the required schedule without duplicating costs and possesses the current Tomahawk configuration and manufacturing data. This is a notice of intent, not a request for competitive proposals; other responsible sources may submit capability statements for Navy consideration.
