Description
Fairfax County Public Schools is soliciting a sealed bid from prequalified contractors for the complete roof replacement at Burke School. The work includes removal of existing roofing and insulation to the deck; installation of new four-ply built-up roofing with insulation and gravel surfacing; replacement of roof drains, flashings, copings, gutters, downspouts, vents, pitch pockets, expansion joints, roof hatches, and related sheet-metal components; and installation of metal roofing, wall and soffit panels, roof curbs, snow guards, and associated accessories where indicated. The project also includes temporary protection, coordination with school operations, permits, prevailing-wage compliance, and cleanup. Work is scheduled to start June 19, 2027, with substantial completion by July 31, 2027, and final completion by September 30, 2027. The solicitation requires attendance at the September 29, 2026, mandatory pre-bid conference, and only prequalified bidders may submit bids. A 5 percent bid bond or permitted alternative bid security is required with the bid; performance and payment bonds each equal to 100 percent of the contract sum are required after award. The bid form is submitted electronically through the procurement portal, while original bid security must be physically delivered by the deadline.
