Description
Cleveland County Water seeks qualifications from professional engineering firms licensed in North Carolina for design engineering and project management consulting for water system improvements serving the Town of Lawndale. The work includes approximately 3,500 linear feet of new 8-inch water line to connect the systems, replacement of approximately 650 linear feet of 4-inch line with 6-inch line, replacement of plastic service connections with copper, replacement of aging meters with automated-read meters, and replacement of a bridge-suspended water line with directional drilling beneath the First Broad River. The selected firm is expected to provide project management, quality assurance/value engineering, construction feasibility review, cost estimating, scheduling, permitting, and related engineering services. Qualifications should demonstrate relevant public-sector water distribution project experience, qualified multidisciplinary staff, grant administration experience, and an approach covering design, permitting, bidding, and construction. The project is contingent on grant funding; design work is not expected to begin until funding is confirmed.
