Description
Mississippi State University proposes a sole-source purchase of FishTek SharkGuard electronic devices designed to deter sharks from depredating recreational fishing catch. The devices will support controlled testing and field trials with recruited charter captains, including an in-person workshop covering recommended techniques and rigging, followed by distribution of deterrents and testing guidelines. FishTek Marine Sport is identified as the developer and sole manufacturer. The estimated purchase is 85 devices at a discounted price of $226.46 each, for a total estimated amount of $19,249.10. Parties objecting to the sole-source determination may submit a written, documented objection explaining why another source can provide the commodity.
