Description

Seminole County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting bids for the complete reconstruction of a client-owned, three-bedroom, two-bathroom single-family home containing approximately 1,100 square feet, plus or minus 100 square feet. The scope includes permitting, engineering, demolition and site preparation, structural and building construction, utilities, finishes, appliances, driveway or walkway work, landscaping, inspections, complete removal of the backyard tree and stump, and installation of a corner-to-corner chain-link fence in the backyard. Power may be connected by pole or underground service. Bidders must submit a schedule of values with the bid. The project includes 90 days for permitting, 150 calendar days to substantial completion from issuance of the Notice to Proceed, and 30 additional calendar days to final completion, for a total of 270 calendar days. The engineer's estimate is stated as $225,000 in the solicitation, while Addendum 1's pre-bid agenda states a project estimate of $250,000; this discrepancy should be clarified. A five-percent bid bond is required, and performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price are required at agreement signing. A material and workmanship bond equal to 10 percent of the final contract price is due at project closeout.
