Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is soliciting a contractor to provide industrial hygiene support focused on quantitative respirator fit testing for approximately 700–1,000 employees at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. The contractor must provide all required fit-testing equipment, including at least two PortaCount machines, consumables, and Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPRs) for personnel who require alternatives to N95 respirators. The medical center will supply N95 respirators. The contractor must perform OSHA-compliant quantitative fit testing, provide respirator-specific training and CAPR training, and may be required to train VA employees in qualitative fit-testing techniques. Responsibilities include scheduling coverage for weekday second and third shifts, responding within 24–48 hours during outbreaks or other emergencies, confirming medical clearance, maintaining fit-test records, issuing notification cards, and providing printed documentation to the Contracting Officer’s Representative. The contemplated firm-fixed-price contract has a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, from October 30, 2026, through October 29, 2031.
