Description
The City of La Porte is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified general contractors for renovation of the existing Fire Station One at 125 South Third Street. The project is a single stipulated-lump-sum construction contract with a stated budget of $2,500,000 and includes all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, temporary construction, insurance, and related services. The scope includes general building renovation and demolition; concrete, structural and miscellaneous metals, roofing, doors, finishes, signage, furnishings, fire suppression, plumbing, natural gas, HVAC and variable-refrigerant-flow systems, electrical and LED lighting, communications, fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and station-alerting systems. The work includes installation and commissioning of new systems, testing and balancing, coordination with existing systems, and work in an occupied facility. The proposal requires a 10 percent proposal bond, and the successful contractor must provide 100 percent performance and payment bonds. The stated contract duration is 240 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed to Substantial Completion.
