Description
The National Forest Foundation is soliciting proposals for multiple vegetation-management treatment items associated with wildfire recovery and fuels reduction in the Lincoln National Forest. Contractors may bid on the items they are qualified to perform, and multiple contracts may be awarded. The work includes mechanical mastication, manual and mechanical thinning, hazard-tree felling, slash removal, skidding, decking, log sorting, chipping, grinding, and disposal of woody material. The project includes up to 196 acres of fuel-break construction, up to 430 acres of hazard-tree mitigation, and up to 465 acres of fuels reduction. Work is expected to occur in 2026 and 2027, with completion deadlines ranging from April 30 through June 30, 2027; additional work may be awarded through 2028 as funding becomes available. Proposals must include a technical proposal, project-management approach, detailed work plan and schedule, key personnel and credentials, qualifications and relevant experience, a list of similar projects completed within the past five years, three professional references with contact information, federal-exclusion verification, disclosures of failed projects and pending legal matters, pricing, and current insurance coverage. Selected contractors will be subject to insurance, fire-prevention, equipment, safety, and payment/performance-security requirements. Bids must be submitted by email, and an optional pre-bid site tour is available.
