The Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services is offering a six-month term sale of approximately 969,200 pounds of mixed iron and steel scrap residue derived from five submarine models and related demilitarization operations. The government guarantees a minimum quantity of 484,600 pounds and permits a maximum quantity of 1,453,800 pounds. Bidders must submit a price per pound for every contract line item; the highest cumulative responsive bid from a responsible bidder is expected to receive the award. The purchaser must complete a required in-person inspection before bidding and provide all transportation, loading, equipment, personnel, permits, safety equipment, containers, and environmental controls. The purchaser must perform final demilitarization or mutilation at an approved off-site facility, maintain an approved processing facility, complete required certifications, comply with hazardous-material and environmental regulations, and obtain required insurance. The sale has a six-month base period with a possible one-month extension. The opportunity is currently marked canceled, with the solicitation stating that changes are needed before republication.
