Description
Spokane County is soliciting a contractor to provide landscape and irrigation system operations and maintenance at eight locations encompassing 12 stormwater facilities. The scope includes inspections and reporting, mowing and edging, weed control, pruning and tree or shrub maintenance, fertilization, trash removal, irrigation start-up, monitoring, shut-down, winterization, repairs, and related stormwater facility maintenance. Optional on-call work includes seeding, hydroseeding, mulching, vegetation or sediment removal, tree work, and temporary traffic control. An optional backflow prevention assembly testing item is also included. The contractor must develop site-specific service schedules, perform inspections, adjust services to meet performance standards, comply with Washington prevailing-wage, pesticide, arborist, and contractor-registration requirements, and provide required insurance and bonding. The engineer’s estimate is $38,500 per year, with two additional one-year renewal options. Work for the 2027 season is scheduled to begin March 1, 2027, after issuance of a notice to proceed, and must be completed no later than December 31, 2027.
