Description
The University of Minnesota seeks a qualified consultant to provide asbestos air monitoring and industrial hygiene services during an abatement project at Bailey Hall, Bailey Dining Center, and the St. Paul Student Center. Work includes collecting and analyzing required indoor air samples on site, maintaining an AIHA-certified analyst on site, inspecting enclosure integrity, conducting visual inspections before encapsulation, and smoke-testing glove bags when used. The consultant must also analyze the abatement contractor’s personal exposure samples and collect bulk samples of suspect asbestos-containing materials discovered during abatement; bulk samples will be provided to the University’s project manager for analysis. The consultant must provide daily logs and air-monitoring reports electronically to the University representative, as well as final reports that may include air-monitoring and bulk-sampling results. The response must document firm and technician qualifications, licenses, certifications, experience, availability, and proposed fees using the supplied proposal form. The project is scheduled to run from January 4 through April 30, 2027, with up to 17 weeks of on-site monitoring anticipated. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting and site visit is required for respondents planning to submit a proposal.
