The University of St. Thomas, through its Center for Microgrid Research, seeks qualified professional engineering firms to provide on-call electrical engineering design services under a master services agreement, with work assigned through individual task orders. Deliverables must be sealed by a professional engineer and suitable for review and execution by the university’s contracted electrical contractor. Proposers must demonstrate completed design experience with microgrids, distributed energy resources, and AC/DC power systems up to 13.8 kV AC and 1,500 V DC, including DC and power-electronics-intensive designs. The anticipated workload is approximately 10–15 task orders per month during the first 3–6 months, with volume expected to grow. Most assignments are expected to be small, fast-turnaround design packages, though some may involve larger installation or construction projects. Responsiveness, task-order capacity, turnaround commitments, rates, sample task-order pricing, technical depth, references, and past performance are evaluation considerations. The university may award agreements to up to two firms.
