Description
The California Department of General Services seeks a firm to provide materials testing and inspection services for construction of a replacement fire station. The project includes a barracks and mess hall, apparatus building, generator and storage buildings, fuel and water systems, site improvements, utilities, and related facilities. Services include field and laboratory testing, inspections, retesting, and reporting for soils, reinforcing and structural steel, aggregate, and concrete, as required by the project plans, specifications, and applicable codes. Testing and inspections will be managed through Procore. The selected firm and its subconsultants may not participate in design-build, construction, or other competitively bid work on the project. The SOQ must address the six selection criteria, including firm and personnel experience, resource availability, testing methods and equipment, and quality control. The solicitation requires an electronic PDF submission and identifies a 24-month estimated contract duration. The estimated construction cost is $23,587,800; this is the construction estimate, not a stated services budget. Shortlisted firms may be interviewed, and the selected firm will later be asked to submit a fee proposal.
