Description
The National Park Service requires a contractor to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, fabrication, surface preparation, coatings, delivery, and installation for new ABAAS-compliant steel handrail and guardrail systems at the Sand Point Boathouse. The work includes approximately 40 linear feet of interior railing and approximately 130 linear feet of exterior railing attached to the existing wood deck and ramp structure. The contractor must verify field conditions and measurements, prepare shop drawings and product data, obtain Contracting Officer's Representative approval before fabrication, and protect the designated historic structure during construction. Railings must comply with applicable accessibility requirements and be fabricated from specified structural steel with corrosion-resistant fasteners and a high-performance two-part epoxy/polyurethane coating system, based on Sherwin-Williams Acrolon 218HS or an approved equal. The scope includes field installation, touch-up coating, cleanup, waste removal, project documentation, and required submittals. The firm-fixed-price commercial contract has a 120-calendar-day performance period beginning at contract award.
