Description
The City of Beaumont is soliciting bids for a single unit-price construction contract to complete pavement improvements at Charlton Pollard Park. The base scope includes parking lot pavement replacement with hot-mix asphalt, limestone flexible base, geogrid reinforcement, culvert installation, ditch cleaning and reshaping, drainage work, traffic control, erosion and sedimentation controls, pavement striping, a handicap sign assembly, prefabricated handicap pavement markings, concrete sidewalks, and reinforced concrete parking stops. The bid schedule also includes alternate concrete pavement options for the parking lot and driveway apron. The contractor must furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, licenses, traffic handling, site restoration, utility coordination, and environmental controls. The solicitation requires a bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid, and the awarded contractor must provide 100% performance and payment bonds. The contract is expected to continue for up to 12 months to complete the original scope, with a possible six-month extension. Prevailing wage requirements apply, and the bidder must provide at least three references for similar-size contracts.
