Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a contractor to provide comprehensive solid waste and recycling program services for the VAMC Providence Healthcare System. This includes collection, recycling, and disposal of various waste streams, as well as training and support to achieve a recycling rate of 55% or greater. The services will be performed at multiple locations within Providence, Rhode Island. The contract will have a base period of 6 months, followed by four 12-month option periods, for a potential total of 30 months of service. The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment, such as compactors and dumpsters, and ensuring they are maintained in proper operating condition. Performance requirements include developing and submitting a recycling plan, conducting waste audits, and providing monthly reports on waste generation and recycling efforts. The contractor must also adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations regarding waste management and disposal.
