Description
The State of Rhode Island, through its Division of Purchases, is soliciting bids for MPA 138, a contract for fire extinguisher and suppression system maintenance and repair services. This statewide contract requires the vendor to service, inspect, tag, certify, repair, and provide scheduled maintenance for fire extinguishers and suppression systems in compliance with Rhode Island Fire Marshal requirements and codes. The scope of work includes ensuring all extinguishers are properly labeled, checking weights and pressures, and performing annual inspections and refills for various types of extinguishers. The contract also covers bi-annual inspections and refills for fixed systems, including Range Guard and Halon systems. The vendor will be responsible for compliance with all licensing and state permits, and may not sub-contract any work. Defective parts replaced on extinguishers must be returned to the authorized department. Emergency calls for refills or service must be responded to within 24 hours. The vendor must also provide a quarterly report detailing usage by Rhode Island municipalities and school districts.
