Description

The U.S. Navy is conducting market research to identify manufacturers capable of producing ruggedized, switchgear-mounted Ethernet switches with performance and listing or approval requirements equivalent to Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories' SEL-2741. The requested equipment must support managed industrial Ethernet communications among protective relays, automation controllers, SCADA systems, meters, and other intelligent electronic devices within a substation network. Required capabilities include VLANs, RSTP, port monitoring, traffic prioritization, SNMP, user authentication, PTP transparent-clock functionality, NTP, network-status and diagnostic monitoring, alarms and event logs, and integration with substation automation and SCADA systems. Responses must include complete technical data for compatibility evaluation; company brochures alone are not acceptable. The notice is a sources-sought market survey and does not request proposals, quotes, or bids. Only manufacturers that directly own the production line or manufacturing rights for a qualified equivalent product will be considered; third-party distributors, pass-through resellers, and supply brokers are excluded.
