Description
The Government of Canada is seeking a contractor to replace the existing fire alarm system at the Sir Frederick Banting Building with a fully addressable, networked system. The work includes furnishing and installing fire alarm equipment, devices, wiring, and controls; integrating the system with elevators, HVAC equipment, electromagnetic locks, fire protection systems, emergency generators, and the monitoring station; and completing testing, verification, commissioning, and code compliance activities. The project will be performed in phases within an occupied laboratory and office facility. The contractor must maintain continuous building operations, fire protection, and life-safety functions throughout construction, coordinate disruptions carefully, remove the existing infrastructure after the new system is operational and accepted, and restore affected areas.
